FACILITIES ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN
•CANDIDATE SUMMARY
•Preventive maintenance of machinery or equipment Corrective maintenance on machinery or equipment Air balancing for clean rooms or facility Maintain boilers, chillers, cooling towers, clean steam generators, backup generators, etc. Automated controls for equipment RO/DI Loop such as maintenance, bed changes, TOC and maintain all meters run within parameters BAS system to monitor all equipment functions Chemical check for chilled water loop Plumbing repairs HVAC repairs and maintenance Carpenter workGeneral Purpose:
Repairs, modifications and preventative maintenance on building and facilities equipment, fixtures and systems.Principle Accountabilities:
Responds to service calls and in-house repairs throughout the facility. Troubleshoots, responds to work orders, repairs systems and equipment. Installs office fixtures and performs work in various maintenance trades including mechanical, electrical and plumbing. Routine assignments include moving furniture, materials and equipment. Conducts scheduled preventative maintenance and breaks down equipment for clean up. Converses with equipment operators to ascertain problems with equipment before breakdown, and to determine if breakdown is due to human error or mechanical problems. Tests faulty equipment and applies knowledge of functional operation of electronic units and systems to diagnose cause of malfunction. Tests electronic components and circuits to locate defects. Replaces defective components and wiring and adjusts mechanical parts. Aligns, adjusts and calibrates equipment according to specifications. Calibrates testing instruments. May maintain records of repairs, calibrations and tests. Enters information into computer to copy program from one electronic component to another, or to draw, modify or to store schematics. Oversees emergency system backup. Ensures plumbing, sewer, water, electrical and mechanical systems are functional.Education/Experience:
Typically requires 6-12 months in the maintenance trades, on-the-job training, a working knowledge of shop math, the ability to utilize tools and measuring instruments. Associate degree or related certifications preferred. Demonstrates technical skills. Requires competency related to function and/or process knowledge and participates in process. Has awareness of Flextronics' technologies/techniques. To perform the major job responsibilities the use of the following tools may be required:Electronic Assembly:
blueprints, schematics; trouble shooting;Mechanical & Electrical Tools:
power air guns, taps & dies, alignment tools, measuring tools, AutoCAD;Office Skills:
telephones, data entry, software;Warehouse:
forklift, pallet jack Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to vendors, supervisors and other employees of the organization.Knowledge / Skills

A Journeyman's license in the electrical or mechanical trade is desired.Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to work that requires repetitive motion, toxic or caustic chemicals, the ability to work in a confined space and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.Physical Demands:
