Job Description

Job Summary To Apply for this Job Click Here Established fire protection contractor is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer to join a growing team supporting large-scale commercial and retrofit projects throughout the San Diego market. This is a design-focused role working primarily on commercial and retrofit work β€” not multifamily β€” with strong project support and a steady pipeline of backlog.
What You'll Be Doing:
Design water-based fire sprinkler systems for commercial and retrofit projects Prepare layouts, shop drawings, and project submittals Perform hydraulic calculations and support permitting requirements Coordinate with PMs, field personnel, and customers to ensure successful project execution Review plans and ensure compliance with NFPA and local code requirements Assist with revisions and design coordination throughout project life cycle
What We're Looking For:
Fire sprinkler design experience within commercial construction NICET Level II or III in Water-Based Systems preferred Experience with AutoSPRINK, AutoCAD, Revit, or related design software Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and water-based fire protection systems Ability to manage deadlines and work within a collaborative team environment
Compensation:
$80,000-$110,000 depending on experience and certification level Full-time opportunity with long-term growth potential This is an excellent opportunity for a designer looking to work on meaningful commercial projects with a company that has strong backlog and long-term stability.
