Job Description

Experience:
Mid Level Salary:
$55 - $75 per hour Job Details - •Role can be based out of the San Jose or Alameda offices.•As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be a crucial member of our Engineering Department, serving as a hands-on technical lead designer. In this role, you won't just create plans; you'll witness the successful installation and performance of your designs. You will have project accountability, mentoring responsibilities, and a chance to influence outcomes, ensuring our mechanical systems are not just compliant, but also optimized for real-world applications.
Responsibilities:
Technical Ownership:
Manage the mechanical design process from the foundation of design through to permit issuance and final construction documentation.
Lead Design Execution:
Establish design parameters, select systems, size equipment, and define control strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
System Design and Troubleshooting:
Design and address challenges related to both air-side (VAV, DOAS, etc.) and water-side (hydronic systems, pumping, etc.) mechanical systems.
QA/QC Responsibility:
Ensure quality assurance and control throughout the design process, verifying that all designs meet outlined standards and practical construction viability.
Field Integration:
Provide support during construction with activities like submittal reviews, resolving RFIs, and participating in site assessments to ensure smooth project execution.
Mentorship:
Mentor junior engineers, guiding them in practical project work, code compliance, and enhancing overall document quality.
Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in the commercial construction sector. Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. (Required) Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred) Comprehensive understanding of engineering fundamentals, HVAC systems, and installation standards. Knowledge of California and applicable local building codes is essential. Proficient in Carrier HAP, Trace 700, Energy Pro, or similar software.
