Senior Mechanical Engineer Location:
San Jose, CA Salary:
$120,000 - $200,000 annually +Full Benefits Schedule:
Full-Time | Senior Level | MEP Design-Build Environment A well-established, full-service mechanical contractor based in Northern California is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team. This firm is known for delivering high-performance HVAC and plumbing systems across complex commercial, institutional, and life sciences projects. With a strong pipeline of work and a collaborative, team-focused culture, this is a long-term opportunity for an experienced engineer who thrives in a fast-paced design-build environment and wants to make a real impact on project outcomes. Responsibilities Lead the design and coordination of mechanical systems on large-scale projects from schematic through construction phases Collaborate closely with in-house design, construction, and project management teams Oversee and contribute to the preparation of drawings, specifications, and submittals using Revit and AutoCAD Coordinate with architectural and engineering disciplines to ensure fully integrated designs Conduct site condition assessments and provide technical guidance during construction Mentor and review the work of junior engineers and drafters Support QA/QC processes to ensure accuracy, constructability, and code compliance Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical design for commercial or institutional buildings Proven experience in HVAC and plumbing systems design for healthcare, laboratory, life sciences, or high-tech facilities Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD E.I.T.
