Job Title:
Senior Facilities Technician Job Description As a Senior Facilities Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on facility systems including HVAC, boilers, pumps, air compressors, plumbing, and exhaust systems. You will operate, monitor, and troubleshoot the Building Management System (BMS) for alarms, trends, and performance, escalating issues as needed. You will support field troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems across manufacturing, cleanroom, and office areas and assist in the operation and maintenance of facility utilities such as DI water, process gases, chilled/hot water systems, and compressed air. Responsibilities Perform equipment startups and shutdowns, replace filters, lubricate moving parts, and calibrate meters or sensors as required. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Respond promptly to facility alarms, equipment failures, and emergency service requests. Escort and oversee external contractors and vendors performing maintenance or repair work, ensuring adherence to site safety and operational protocols. Follow all site safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), use of PPE, and confined space entry requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Electrical, plumbing, and facilities maintenance expertise. HVAC troubleshooting and maintenance experience. Knowledge of boilers, chillers, and BMS systems. Experience with troubleshooting and diagnosing issues. Experience in maintenance of boiler and chillers. Knowledge of CMMS or BMS systems. Ability to perform preventive maintenance and industrial repairs. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma required; technical trade school or associate degree preferred. 5-6 years of hands-on experience in facilities maintenance or a related field. Working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, boilers, chilled/hot water systems, and BMS operation. Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and equipment manuals. Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with tools, meters, and troubleshooting practices. Basic computer skills for data entry, system monitoring, and online collaboration. Teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, cleanroom, or high-tech manufacturing environments. Proficiency with CMMS platforms (Maintenance Connection preferred). Relevant certifications such as EPA Refrigerant Handling, Forklift Operation, or Confined Space Entry. Familiarity with TPM, LEAN, or continuous improvement methodologies. Knowledge of energy conservation and sustainability best practices. Why Work Here? Work Environment The position offers a Monday through Friday day shift schedule. Initial training will be from 6 am to 2:30 pm, followed by a regular shift from 10 am to 7:30 pm. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sunnyvale, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
