Lead Engineer/HVAC Mechanic Golden, CO $31.25 - $35.00 an hour - Full-time, Contract $31.25 - $35.00 an hour - Full-time, Contract Innovative Consulting & Management Services (ICMS) is a Professional & Technical Management Consulting firm with over 20 years of consulting experience. The Lead Engineer/HVAC Mechanic serves as the primary on-site authority and technical lead for all building operations equipment including HVAC and Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) operations as well as
BAS/ BMS
management systems. This position is responsible for supervision, maintenance execution, system reliability, and compliance with all contractual, regulatory, and safety requirements. When the Facilities Project Manager is not onsite, this position assumes full authority to act on behalf of the Contract, ensuring continuity of operations and direct coordination with Government representatives.Responsibilities:
Supervision of technical staff performing all MEP maintenance and operations Acts with the same authority as the Facilities Project Manager in his/her absence Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair full facility MEP systems and building specific equipment register Develop SOPs/MOPs consistent with all building operation equipment Execute system start-up, shutdown, and operational testing Manage and assign work through CMMS (IBM Maximo) Implement system optimization and efficiency improvements Perform and Oversee Preventive Maintenance (PM) Implement Predictive Maintenance strategies Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment history Identify failure trends and recommend corrective actions. Safety, Compliance and QA/QC In conjunction with PM and company, form a 'culture of safety' throughout all work execution and within the facility. Monitor and coach personnel and ensure all training is maintained and up to date for all reports.Enforce compliance with:
OSHA standards EPA Section 608 NEC and applicable codes ASHRAE Standards 55, 62.1, 62.2, 90.1, 170 and other building applicable guidelines Implement Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures Always maintain safe working conditions Ensure all work meets Contractor and Government QA/QC standards IAW prescribed PWS and GSA standards Perform inspections and functional testing Maintain documentation for audits and compliance reviews. Requirements High School Diploma or GED and Associate's Degree program in HVAC systems or an equivalent combination of education and 5 years of documented experience as HVAC, Stationary or Operating Engineer Certification or experience as a Stationary Engineer Hold and maintain active at least one or more of the followingCertifications:
NATE Certification HVAC Excellence Certification UA Star Certification Minimum annually continued education of 16 hours Minimum 5+ years HVAC experience with complex systems EPA Universal Certification (Required) Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, BAS/DDC, and MEP systems Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics Security Requirements Must obtain and maintain: Federal suitability determination PIV Credential (HSPD-12 compliant) Physical Requirements Lift up to 50 lbs (greater with assistance) Work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, confined spaces Climbing, standing, bending, and kneeling requiredFull-time Day Shift:
