Your New Organization Join a global leader in real estate and facilities management services, supporting some of the world's most advanced and high-profile environments. This role is based at a cutting-edge aerospace processing facility in Merritt Island, Florida, where safety, precision, and reliability are paramount. As a third-party facilities provider, the organization focuses exclusively on maintaining and optimizing the building infrastructure that supports critical operations. Your New Role As a Night Shift Operating Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and uninterrupted performance of building systems across the facility. Working overnight, you'll be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting core infrastructure systems to support continuous operations.
Key responsibilities include:
Operating, maintaining, and repairing facility systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment Conducting routine inspections and preventive maintenance Responding promptly to alarms, faults, or system issues during the night shift Supporting building infrastructure-not the operational processes within the aerospace facility itself Maintaining accurate logs, reports, and compliance documentation Coordinating with day teams and management to ensure seamless handovers What You'll Need to Succeed To be successful in this role, you should bring: Proven experience as an Operating Engineer, Maintenance Technician, or similar role in a commercial or industrial environment Strong working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing) Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during overnight shifts Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and safety standards Technical certifications or licenses (e.g., HVAC, electrical, or stationary engineer) are preferred Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Flexibility to work a consistent night shift schedule (Sunday-Wednesday, 11 PM-9:30 AM) What's in It for You Full-time hours across a 4-day work week (3 days off!)
