Job Description

AGS is a growing manufacturer in the HVAC/R and plumbing industries. We are past the startup stage, but we still operate with the speed, ownership, and opportunity of a smaller family owned and growth-focused company. We are seeking a full-time Territory Sales Engineer. This position is based in the Tampa area and involves extensive travel throughout the assigned territory. Our sales engineering team is dedicated to providing exceptional service to our commercial plumbing, HVAC/R, and OEM customers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with manufacturers' representatives, MEP engineers, contractors, wholesale distributors, and new OEM accounts. This role offers meaningful flexibility and independence - ideal for a driven and technically minded salesperson who thrives on autonomy, accountability and visible results. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets within the assigned territory.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with clients, contractors, and engineering firms.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers and key decision-makers.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring client satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of AGS equipment, including providing presentations and educational demonstrations on installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting advice.
  • Assist clients in selecting appropriate equipment solutions based on their technical and operational needs (application engineering).
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments in the industry.
  • Identify emerging customer needs and recommend new product development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, product management, and customer service, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, activity reports, and customer data using CRM tools.
Required Skills and Attributes:
  • 2+ years of experience in technical sales, applications engineering, sales engineering, inside sales, field sales, or similar customer facing technical role.
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering preferred, or 4+ years of relevant technical industry experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and CRM software.
  • Ideal but not required: experience with engineering software such as AutoCAD and BIM.
  • Demonstrated experience with customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand technical products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A strong work ethic with a drive to succeed and achieve targets.
  • The ability to multitask and work effectively both independently and as part of a team is important.
