Essential Job Functions:
Provide HVAC and Plumbing services with specific responsibility for guiding assigned workers; ensuring completion of projects in accordance with trade standards; providing information on the proper uses of equipment; identifying repair and/or replacement needs; monitoring, programming, and maintaining HVAC and Plumbing systems; providing information on the operation of HVAC and Plumbing systems; and supporting other skilled trades in completing work assignments.
Education Requirements:
Requires High School diploma or equivalent; Associate degree, Vocational School, or Journey Level Program Certificate preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
KNOWLEDGE
to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Indoor air monitoring equipment and interpreting data; standards for design and construction; air conditioning/heating and plumbing codes; and hazards and safety precautions SKILLS to perform multiple technical tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills to meet changing job conditions. Operating equipment used in the installation, repair and maintenance on HVAC and plumbing equipment; planning and managing projects; preparing and maintaining accurate records; and handling hazardous materials; adhering to safety practices and procedures; analyzing data; comparing results; diagnosing equipment malfunctions; estimating required resources; inspecting buildings and/or grounds; inspecting equipment; inspecting vehicles; operating job related equipment; preparing working drawings; reading blueprints and schematics. ABILITY to schedule activities, meetings, and/or events; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and consider a number of factors when using equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined and similar processes; and operate equipment using standardized methods. Ability is also required to work and communicate with a wide diversity of individuals; work with data of widely varied types and/or purposes; and utilize a wide variety of types of job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to identify issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is moderate to significant. Adapting to changing work priorities; meeting deadlines and schedules; working as part of a team; working with constant interruptions; and displaying mechanical aptitude; available on-call; dealing with frequent interruptions; organizing tasks; working extended hours.
