Duties:
Direct teams of engineers in collecting and analyzing data from physical sites, surveys, blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and reports for project development and construction. Supervise professional engineers in research and inspections of site conditions, equipment, and infrastructure; provide final approval for compliance with codes, permits, and standards. Lead adoption of advanced technology, modeling techniques, and design strategies; delegate tasks and review outputs to ensure alignment with WSP's "Future Ready" framework. Manage cross-functional engineering teams by assigning responsibilities, monitoring progress, and ensuring conformance with specifications, permits, and compliance documentation. Review and approve technical data and visualizations (reports, charts, drawings, calculations) prepared by subordinate engineers. Establish and enforce quality control standards; oversee subordinate compliance with QA/QC procedures and evaluate technical performance. Conduct performance evaluations, recommend hiring, promotions, salary increases, and training; oversee professional development of staff. Approve Health and Safety Plans (HASPs) and review subordinate recommendations for site investigations and risk mitigation strategies. Up to 15% domestic travel. Standard company benefits included. Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field plus 5 years of experience as a Senior Plumbing Engineer, Plumbing Engineer, Assistant or Graduate Plumber, or related role.
Experience must include:
Design plumbing and fire protection systems in compliance with international construction codes. Work with plumbing system construction and design for high-rise hospitality, residential, healthcare and mission critical projects. Multi-discipline clash detection, coordination, and resolution using building information modeling and CAD software, such as Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
