Moran Fire Protection of Northern IL! We have an exciting opportunity in Lemont, IL for an experienced Fire Alarm Designer. In this role, you will ensure that the system meets codes, standards, and specifications, provide a quality product that pleases the customer, and help to complete a successful installation. As our company continues to expand, we want you to grow and develop with us!
You Are:
EXPERIENCED
Experience in Fire Alarm, Clean Agent, Pre-Action Detection, AutoCAD, and VESDA; learn and comply with NFPA standards and other applicable federal, state, and local codes
KNOWLEDGEABLE
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar degree; or equivalent relevant experience;
NICET III
certification preferred
ANALYTICAL
Critical thinker with mathematical aptitude; strong attention to detail; ability to read and understand construction blueprints
ADAPTABLE
Quickly adjusts to a changing environment; successfully manages priorities under time constraints
FLEXIBILE
Available as needed; able to travel to client sites when necessary
What You'll Do:
KEEP TO CODE
Complete fire alarm drawings utilizing current NFPS standards, project specifications, manufacture recommendations, and best practices from the industry
PREPARE:
Accurately and thoroughly layout, design, and render code compliant life safety alarm systems and related projects within stipulated timeframes
COORDINATE
Collaborate with the Sales, Project Manager's, and technical staff teams to interpret project specifications
MENTOR:
Support less-senior designers' skills development in Fire Alarm design
