Position Type:

Full-Time An established mechanical contractor is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to support ongoing commercial and industrial projects. This role involves full-scope design and technical coordination for HVAC and plumbing systems. Ideal for someone with strong design skills, practical construction knowledge, and the ability to support multiple active projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and document HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial applications Review and verify drawings, specifications, and technical calculations Collaborate with internal teams across project management and field operations Participate in code reviews, permitting, and design coordination Provide technical support through all project phases

Qualifications:

7+ years of mechanical engineering experience (HVAC & plumbing focus) Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required Proficient with Revit, AutoCAD, and mechanical design software Strong communication and coordination skills Must be based in the Chicago area or willing to commute regularly This is a full-time position offering stability, growth, and the chance to work on a wide variety of projects with a company known for quality execution and long-term partnerships.
