Job Description

BIM Manager - HVAC (Revit Required)Position Overview We are seeking an experienced BIM Manager with a strong HVAC and MEP background and expert Revit skills to lead our VDC/BIM efforts. The BIM Manager will drive model coordination, create and enforce BIM standards and workflows, manage a cross-disciplinary BIM team, and ensure accurate, constructible HVAC and piping models across projects. This role combines technical leadership, hands-on modeling expertise, and project coordination to deliver high-quality BIM deliverables on schedule.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead and mentor a team of BIM/VDC technicians and modelers focused on HVAC and MEP systems, setting priorities and managing workload across projects.

Develop, maintain, and enforce company BIM standards, templates, families, naming conventions, and Level of Development (LOD) criteria for HVAC, piping and MEP models.

Own project BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), coordinate model deliverables, schedules, and responsibilities with project managers and discipline leads.

Perform and manage clash detection and resolution workflows using Navisworks and/or equivalent tools; lead coordination meetings and track issue resolution.

Produce, review and enhance Revit HVAC and piping models to ensure constructability, correct equipment sizing, routing, clearances and tag data.

Implement and optimize VDC processes and tools (Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360, Forge, or similar) to improve team efficiency and interdisciplinary coordination.

Provide QA/QC on models, drawings, and deliverables to ensure compliance with contract requirements, company standards and regulatory codes.

Coordinate with design engineers, contractors, fabricators and field teams to ensure accurate transition from design to construction, supporting prefabrication efforts where applicable.

Create training materials and conduct regular training sessions to upskill team members on Revit best practices, BIM workflows, and project-specific requirements.

Monitor project progress, produce BIM-related reports and metrics, and communicate BIM status, risks and opportunities to project leadership and stakeholders.

QualificationsBachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field preferred.7+ years of hands-on BIM experience with a focus on
HVAC/MEP
modeling and coordination; 3+ years in a supervisory or management role.

Expert-level proficiency in Revit (mechanical & piping), including family creation, systems, routing and model optimization.

Proven experience with Navisworks Manage for clash detection, coordination and model aggregation.

Strong understanding of HVAC systems, piping, ductwork, equipment selection, and MEP constructability.

Experience implementing VDC/BIM workflows and tools (BIM 360, BIM execution plans, model federation, prefabrication coordination).Demonstrated ability to develop and enforce BIM standards, QA/QC procedures and LOD definitions across multiple projects.

Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills; ability to lead coordination meetings and resolve interdisciplinary conflicts.

Familiarity with fabrication and piping prefabrication workflows, BIM-to-field processes and construction sequencing.

Certifications such as Autodesk Revit Certified Professional, Navisworks certification or Lean/VDC/PM certifications are a plus; willingness to travel to project sites as required.
