- Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Maintenance Engineer specializing in Hospital Grounds to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our healthcare facility's outdoor environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the grounds, landscape, and outdoor infrastructure to create a welcoming and safe space for patients, staff, and visitors. Your expertise in horticulture, landscaping, and grounds maintenance will contribute significantly to the overall well-being and operational excellence of our hospital campus. Duties Perform routine landscaping tasks including mowing, lawn care, planting, pruning, and tree trimming to maintain a lush and healthy outdoor environment Operate power tools, hand tools, lawn equipment, and heavy machinery such as excavators for landscape installation and maintenance projects Conduct irrigation system inspections, repairs, and adjustments to ensure optimal watering of gardens and landscaped areas Maintain hardscape features such as pathways, patios, retaining walls, and other outdoor structures to ensure safety and visual appeal Execute snow plowing, snow removal, and winter storm preparedness activities to keep pathways accessible during adverse weather conditions Carry out general grounds maintenance including gardening, tree care, landscape upkeep, and pest control as needed Assist with construction or renovation projects related to outdoor facilities using appropriate landscaping or construction techniques Requirements Proven experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance within a hospital or similar large-scale facility setting Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, excavators, power tools, and hand tools safely and efficiently Knowledge of horticulture principles including plant care, tree trimming, irrigation systems, and garden management Familiarity with snow plowing equipment and winter storm procedures is preferred Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy materials, digging trenches, or climbing ladders regularly Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety standards and environmental sustainability Valid driver's license with experience operating construction or landscaping machinery is advantageous Join our team as a Maintenance Engineer
