Job Description

HVAC Instructor - Impact Institute Kendallville, Indiana | 2026-27 School Year Impact Institute is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated HVAC Instructor to lead its HVAC program beginning in the 2026-27 school year. This position focuses primarily on commercial and residential HVAC systems, while also incorporating foundational instruction in plumbing and electrical systems, including 3-phase power. The successful candidate will provide classroom instruction and hands-on training that prepares students for careers and continued education in the skilled trades. Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of HVAC industry experience (preferred), 5 years minimum
  • EPA 608 Universal Certification (required)
  • Knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, troubleshooting, refrigeration, electrical fundamentals, and plumbing systems
  • Additional certifications such as NATE, ESCO, OSHA, or NCCER (preferred)
  • Strong communication, leadership, and student mentorship skills Responsibilities
  • Teach curriculum including heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing and electrical fundamentals
  • Provide hands-on lab/shop instruction and maintain a safe learning environment
  • Prepare students for industry certifications
  • Maintain equipment, student records, and classroom organization
  • Build relationships with local industry partners and advisory committees Candidates must be able to provide documentation of either 5,000 clock hours of occupational experience within 5 years or 4,000 clock hours of occupational experience within the last 10 years and documentation of a two year Associate's Degree or higher in the area of teaching focus.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Wages and benefi ts shall be paid consistent with the DeKalb County Eastern Community School District's Collective Bargaining Agreement Compensation Outline. Length of work year and hours of employment shall be those established by Impact Institute.
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
