Job Description
HVAC Instructor - Impact Institute Kendallville, Indiana | 2026-27 School Year Impact Institute is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated HVAC Instructor to lead its HVAC program beginning in the 2026-27 school year. This position focuses primarily on commercial and residential HVAC systems, while also incorporating foundational instruction in plumbing and electrical systems, including 3-phase power. The successful candidate will provide classroom instruction and hands-on training that prepares students for careers and continued education in the skilled trades. Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of HVAC industry experience (preferred), 5 years minimum
- EPA 608 Universal Certification (required)
- Knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, troubleshooting, refrigeration, electrical fundamentals, and plumbing systems
- Additional certifications such as NATE, ESCO, OSHA, or NCCER (preferred)
- Strong communication, leadership, and student mentorship skills Responsibilities
- Teach curriculum including heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing and electrical fundamentals
- Provide hands-on lab/shop instruction and maintain a safe learning environment
- Prepare students for industry certifications
- Maintain equipment, student records, and classroom organization
- Build relationships with local industry partners and advisory committees Candidates must be able to provide documentation of either 5,000 clock hours of occupational experience within 5 years or 4,000 clock hours of occupational experience within the last 10 years and documentation of a two year Associate's Degree or higher in the area of teaching focus.
