This role blends technical expertise, consultative sales, and relationship management, working closely with consulting engineers, contractors, and building owners throughout the lifecycle of commercial and industrial HVAC projects. The ideal candidate is technically curious, relationship-driven, and interested in developing a long-term career in outside sales engineering. Prior HVAC experience is beneficial but not required for candidates with strong technical aptitude and a desire to learn. About Mechanical Concepts Mechanical Concepts is a leading commercial and industrial HVAC manufacturer's representative serving all of Louisiana, East Texas, and Southern Arkansas. Our reputation is built on technical excellence, integrity, and long-standing relationships within the engineering and construction community. We represent premier HVAC manufacturers and specialize in applied solutions including VRF/VRV systems, chillers, air-side equipment, DOAS, energy recovery, advanced building automation controls and service. Our team works closely with customers from early design through construction and startup to ensure systems perform as intended. Mechanical Concepts is known for investing in its people. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain strong relationships with consulting engineers, contractors, and key decision-makers Support HVAC system design, equipment selection, and application strategy Manage project opportunities from concept through construction Review mechanical plans, specifications, and sequences of operation Conduct technical presentations, lunch-and-learns, and training sessions Collaborate with internal engineering, applications, and sales teams Maintain awareness of active projects and upcoming opportunities within the territory Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field (preferred) Commercial or industrial HVAC experience (preferred) Sales engineering or customer-facing technical experience (preferred) Understanding of HVAC systems such as VRF/VRV, air handlers, chillers, heat pumps, DOAS, and energy recovery (preferred) Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans and specifications (preferred) Strong verbal and written communication skills Comfort presenting technical information to engineering-focused audiences Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in an outside sales role Valid driver's license and reliable, insured personal vehicle

Commissioned position after initial training period with defined wage depending upon experience ½ Health insurance paid (employee or family) Health insurance plan (eligibility after 90 day probationary period) Long term disability coverage starting 90 days after employment

A contribution is made for you even if you don't contribute to the 401k plan. Typically, 3% of salary is contributed each March.
