Job Description

Position Summary The Manufacturing & Maintenance Engineer supports daily production operations in a rubber‑roller manufacturing facility. This role combines process engineering , hands‑on equipment support , and continuous improvement . The engineer will work closely with machinists, maintenance technicians, and production leadership to improve manufacturing efficiency, troubleshoot equipment issues, and support the upkeep of older manual CNCs, lathes, and mills. Key Responsibilities Process Optimization — Analyze and improve machining, grinding, and rubber‑roller production workflows to reduce scrap, cycle time, and downtime. Equipment Support — Assist with troubleshooting and minor repairs on manual CNCs, lathes, mills, and auxiliary equipment. Maintenance Coordination — Work with maintenance staff to schedule preventive maintenance and document machine condition. Tooling & Fixtures — Help design or modify jigs, fixtures, and tooling to improve repeatability and operator ergonomics. Quality Control — Support inspection processes, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions for defects. Production Support — Provide on‑floor engineering assistance to operators and technicians. Continuous Improvement — Participate in Lean/5S initiatives and small‑scale automation or modernization projects. Documentation — Create and update SOPs, maintenance logs, and process documentation. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering , Mechanical Engineering , Industrial Engineering , or related field required. Hands‑on experience with machining, CNC operation, or mechanical systems (internships, co‑ops, or personal projects count). Basic understanding of mechanical troubleshooting , machine tool operation , and preventive maintenance . Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar). Strong problem‑solving skills and willingness to work directly on the shop floor.
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
