In this role, you will be responsible for developing precise plumbing system designs that meet project specifications, codes, and standards. Your expertise will contribute to the successful execution of building projects by creating innovative, efficient, and compliant piping layouts and schematics. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and utilize cutting-edge CAD software to bring complex plumbing concepts to life. Your proactive approach and technical proficiency will drive project success from concept through construction. Duties Develop comprehensive plumbing system designs using advanced CAD tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and NavisWorks, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project requirements. Create detailed schematics, piping layouts, and system design drawings aligned with ASME codes & standards and industry best practices. Collaborate with mechanical engineers, architects, and construction teams to integrate plumbing systems seamlessly into overall building designs. Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles to ensure precise component placement and system functionality. Conduct technical writing for design documentation, specifications, and installation instructions to facilitate smooth project execution. Perform FEA (Finite Element Analysis) simulations where necessary to validate system integrity under various conditions. Review and modify designs based on client feedback, regulatory updates, or site-specific constraints using software like SolidWorks, Creo, or Autodesk Inventor. Assist in the development of construction documents and assist during construction phases to resolve design challenges efficiently. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a focus on Mechanical Design or System Design preferred. Proven experience in plumbing system design within the construction or mechanical engineering sectors. Proficiency in CAD software including Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, NavisWorks, SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, and Pro/ENGINEER. Strong understanding of ASME codes & standards applicable to plumbing systems and mechanical components. Knowledge of schematic development, assembly processes, and technical drafting techniques. Familiarity with FEA tools and 2D animation for visualizing complex systems is a plus. Excellent technical writing skills for creating clear documentation and specifications. Mechanical knowledge combined with a solid understanding of construction practices ensures practical and compliant designs.
