Fargo, ND Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Maintenance Engineer to manage all maintenance operations for our facility. This role is responsible for maintaining building systems, ensuring equipment reliability, overseeing preventive maintenance programs, and supervising the maintenance team. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-focused, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility & Equipment Maintenance Oversee daily maintenance operations for all building systems, equipment, and grounds. Perform and supervise repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural systems. Ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently. Preventive Maintenance Develop, implement, and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for all facility systems. Track maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment performance. Identify potential failures and proactively recommend improvements or upgrades. Team Leadership Supervise, train, and schedule maintenance technicians. Assign work orders, monitor progress, and ensure quality and safety standards are met. Support a positive, productive, and team-oriented work environment. Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, building codes, and company safety policies. Maintain accurate maintenance records, safety logs, and inspection reports. Respond to emergency maintenance situations and after-hours calls as needed. Budgeting & Resource Management Assist with budgeting for maintenance operations, equipment purchases, and repairs. Manage inventory of tools, parts, and supplies. Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers.
Qualifications:
Required 2+ years of experience in maintenance engineering, building maintenance, or facilities management. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and building automation systems. Experience supervising maintenance teams. Strong troubleshooting, repair, and diagnostic skills. Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Preferred:
Associate's or technical degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field. Certifications such as HVAC, Boiler Operator, Electrical License, or similar. Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (climbing, bending, standing for extended periods). Work may involve heights, confined spaces, and occasional outdoor exposure. Must be available for on-call emergencies and occasional overtime. How to
