If you need assistance or have questions regarding the application process, please contact: Human Resources humanresources@wnc.edu (775) 445-4237 2201 West College Parkway Carson City, NV 89703 Job Description Western Nevada College is seeking a qualified Part-Time HVAC Instructor to support workforce training programs in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) at the Fallon campus. This position will deliver both classroom and hands-on instruction aligned with industry standards, preparing students for entry into the HVAC workforce and relevant certification exams. The role supports workforce development efforts in rural communities and aligns training with regional employer needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Deliver instruction in HVAC topics including electrical fundamentals, refrigeration systems, heating systems, controls, and diagnostics Provide hands-on lab instruction using industry-standard tools and equipment Develop and maintain course materials, syllabi, and assessments aligned with program outcomes Support students in achieving industry-recognized certifications (e.g., EPA 608, NATE, HVAC Excellence) Maintain a safe and organized lab environment in compliance with OSHA and institutional policies Collaborate with faculty and local industry partners to ensure curriculum aligns with workforce demands in the Fallon area
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Five (5) years of HVAC technician experience OR, an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior teaching or training experience in HVAC or a related technical field Experience with residential, commercial, and/or light industrial HVAC systems Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) and controls Associate degree or higher in HVAC, mechanical systems, or related field Additional Information This is a part-time, temporary/seasonal position. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis to establish an applicant pool. As vacancies occur, they are filled from the pool. Courses may be scheduled during daytime, evening, or weekend hours based on program needs Instruction will primarily occur at the Fallon campus but may support other WNC sites if needed
