Maintenance Engineer Job Description We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to perform inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. This role requires a dedicated professional to assist the Chief Engineer in daily operations and lead during their absence. Responsibilities Conduct inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Assist the Chief Engineer with daily operations and take the lead during absences. Oversee preventive maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with FDNY and local regulations. Coordinate with contractors and vendors on repairs, upgrades, and capital projects. Participate in an on-call rotation for emergencies and after-hours issues. Maintain logs, reports, and documentation for all systems and equipment. Essential Skills Electrical troubleshooting Maintenance technician experience Hydraulics HVAC systems Mechanical maintenance repair Facilities maintenance Preventive maintenance Ability to read blueprints and schematics Boiler and building maintenance Additional Skills & Qualifications 7-10 years of experience in building engineering, powerplant operations, or facilities maintenance. Strong hands-on experience with boilers, chillers, HVAC, and steam systems. Refrigeration Machine Operator License (highly preferred). FDNY certifications (or ability to obtain). High pressure steam license is not required but is a major plus. Boiler Operator License is a plus. Ability to read schematics, manuals, and technical diagrams. Why Work Here?
