Maintenance Engineer- Job Description
- The Manufacturing Maintenance Engineer sets up PLC and electrical systems throughout the plant, connecting equipment to a laptop as needed to produce each job, and supports and oversees the work of machine operators to ensure reliable, efficient production.
- Responsibilities
- + Set up PLC and electrical systems across the plant to support production requirements for each job.
+ Connect production equipment to a laptop to configure, adjust, and monitor PLC and electrical parameters. + Troubleshoot electrical issues on production machinery to minimize downtime and maintain safe operation. + Apply working knowledge of PLCs, I/O logic, and AC/DC drives to diagnose and resolve equipment problems. + Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to guide installation, setup, and maintenance activities. + Complete required paperwork and project documentation using basic math, writing, and reading skills. + Collaborate with machine operators, providing guidance and support to ensure proper equipment setup and operation. + Use computer-based tools and software to monitor, adjust, and document maintenance and system configurations. + Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues and recommending corrective actions.
- Essential Skills
- + Strong troubleshooting skills, including electrical troubleshooting in an industrial environment.
+ Working knowledge of PLCs, including configuration and basic programming concepts. + Proficiency with I/O logic and the ability to diagnose input and output-related issues. + Hands-on experience with AC and DC drives, including setup and fault diagnosis. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and equipment specifications. + Basic math, writing, and reading skills sufficient to complete required paperwork and project documentation. + Computer literacy, including the ability to use a laptop to interface with PLCs and control systems. + At least 5 years of industrial experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Additional Skills & Qualifications
- + Comfortable in a manufacturing environment with exposure to automated equipment and production lines. + Experience supporting machine operators and production teams in a plant setting. + Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical personnel. + Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to troubleshooting and system setup.

- This role is based in a manufacturing plant environment with active production equipment and industrial control systems.
You will frequently work on and around machinery, PLCs, I/O systems, and AC/DC drives, using a laptop and other computer-based tools to configure and monitor equipment. The position involves moving throughout the facility to support different machines and lines, working in a hands-on setting that may include noise, moving mechanical parts, and varying temperatures typical of an industrial facility. Appropriate work attire and adherence to safety procedures and personal protective equipment requirements are expected.
