Job Overview The Maintenance Engineer assists in the completion of the day-to-day activities involving the maintenance of the production equipment, ovens, incinerators and machinery used in steel processing, including facilities(HVAC, building lighting systems, security and overall facility appearance). The position supervises and coordinates the work of employees who repair and maintain building/facility, equipment and machinery. Responsibilities Consults with design engineers on features needed for new or existing installations. Prepares purchase requisitions or work orders to obtain needed tools or parts for the installation. Lead or support capital projects, including scope development, budgeting, vendor selection, installation, and commissioning. Coordinate maintenance activities with production to minimize downtime and maximize throughput. Manage contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards. Investigates and resolves engineering related manufacturing problems. Reporting project progress to Senior Management. Lead and coordinate all maintenance activities across the facility, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs. Supervise maintenance technicians and contractors, ensuring adherence to safety standards and operational procedures. Oversee the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems, including high voltage and low voltage components. Proven experience in managing and supervising employees (i.e. Maintenance Mechanic & Electricians) Extensive knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, and electrical systems. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
