Job Title:
Maintenance Engineer Job Description Join a dynamic team as an Electrical-Mechanical Maintenance Technician for the weekend shift at a leading wire and steel fabrication company in southeast Columbus. This role has opened due to company growth and the addition of a new weekend shift, offering an exciting opportunity to be part of one of the largest wire and steel fabricators in the United States. The company specializes in manufacturing light and heavy-duty wire mesh decking, flue spacers, dividers, gridwall/slatwall, mine mesh, fencing, and more. Responsibilities Maintain, repair, install, and troubleshoot production machines. Follow and interpret blueprints and schematics. Install and maintain complete production lines. Research new trends and technologies. Complete preventive maintenance (PM) in a timely manner. Assist with improvements of production equipment and controls to increase productivity. Interface with all levels of personnel to implement improvements to reduce downtime and increase productivity. Carry out goals, plans, and policies of the department. Follow all company policies, procedures, and instructions. Multitask by completing projects while supporting daily activities. Communicate openly with supervisors to avoid misunderstandings. Work in a team-oriented process by being an active participant. Work with minimal supervision. Essential Skills Five years of experience in Industrial Manufacturing Maintenance or three-year technical schooling. Basic computer and mathematical skills. Experience in troubleshooting one or more PLC programs such as Siemens, S5, S7, ABB, Bosch. Understanding of control wiring and logic diagrams. Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds), bending, and stooping. Ability to work overtime as assigned. Proficient in PLC troubleshooting and HMI troubleshooting. Proficient in the use and programming of Servo systems (electrical and hydraulic). AC and DC drive set-up, programming, and troubleshooting. Ability to interpret component catalogs. Additional Skills & Qualifications Welding and fabricating. PLC programming, including setting timers and checking inputs & outputs. CNC maintenance or robotic maintenance. Experience with blueprint schematics, welding, hydraulics pneumatics, preventive maintenance, CNC maintenance, fabrication, high voltage, AC/DC motor, HMI. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a large manufacturing facility with over 300 employees. The facility is non-climate controlled, which can be hot during certain seasons. The environment features a variety of industrial machinery including robotic welders, ovens, wire-mesh fencing machines, and paint lines.
Multiple shifts are available:
1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift (8 hours) from Monday to Friday, and 1st and 3rd weekend shifts from Friday to Sunday (7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.). Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
