Job Description

Founded in 1975, BR+A Consulting Engineers maintains a total staff of over 500 employees located at our main office in Boston and branch offices in New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Vienna, VA (Washington, DC); Coral Gables (Miami) and Tampa, FL; Chicago, IL; St. Louis, MO; Charlotte and Raleigh, NC; Charleston, SC; Houston, TX; New Haven, CT; Los Angeles, CA; Denver, CO; and Toronto. BR+A provides state-of-the-art integrated and coordinated mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection consulting engineering, technology systems design, lighting design, and building commissioning services.

BR+A is seeking an experienced Plumbing Designer for our Philadelphia, PA office. This role will be responsible for designing Plumbing systems for a variety of projects and other tasks such as performing field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects, coordinating with other disciplines, overseeing deliverables to and from clients, and developing hydraulic calculations for systems.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

Experience in specification writingAbility to develop calculations for Plumbing system sizingThorough knowledge of local Plumbing CodesUnderstanding work planning and managing the design process to the available hours in the work planAbility to meet with clients and work with contractorsTaking ownership of assignments and working both independently and as part of the project team
Position Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering TechnologyEIT (Engineer in Training) License is a plus5-10 years of relevant experience in Plumbing designProficient in AutoCAD and RevitPrevious experience in designing Healthcare, Commercial, Higher Education or Laboratory projectsExcellent organizational and communication skillsProactive and collaborative team member who is strongly motivated, well organized, and shows professional initiativeBR+A is a place to learn, to grow, to work hard for clients that matter and to be part of something bigger.
