Columbus, Cincinnati, or Maumee, OH (with Full Remote Option Available) Job Summary Fishbeck is seeking a Commissioning Agent to join our Mechanical Engineering team. In this role, you will be actively involved in all phases of the commissioning process for HVAC and plumbing systems. You will collaborate with engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure proper installation, verify system performance, and support successful project delivery. This position offers the opportunity to work out of one of three Fishbeck offices in Ohio or work fully remote. A company vehicle will be provided to support travel to project sites and field activities. Primary Functions
  • Lead and participate in commissioning activities for mechanical HVAC and plumbing systems for active and new construction projects.
  • Conduct project meetings, site inspections, and construction observations.
  • Perform functional testing and document system performance verification.
  • Develop commissioning plans, schedules, and detailed reports.
  • Review and approve contractor testing and startup documentation.
  • Demonstrate system functionality to project engineers, owners, and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support successful, on-time, and on-budget project completion.
Minimum Physical Requirements Mobility to work in office and field environments, including walking active construction sites and using standard office equipment. Occasional lifting and carrying may be required. Ability to travel to project sites and attend meetings as needed. Visual acuity to perform inspection, testing, and documentation responsibilities. Accommodations may be made for otherwise qualified individuals. Desired Education Associate's degree in HVAC Technology or a related field preferred. Relevant field experience, such as a licensed mechanical contractor (HVAC or mechanical license), will also be considered. Desired Skills/Experience
  • Minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in consulting, commissioning, or mechanical systems.
  • General understanding of and familiarity with the commissioning process.
  • Knowledge of proper installation techniques for mechanical systems.
  • Understanding of building automation and control systems.
  • Familiarity with HVAC and plumbing system operation and performance.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
