Mechanical Engineer / HVAC Engineer - Hybrid | Ownership Track Smith Miller Associates Smith Miller Associates is seeking a Mechanical Engineer / HVAC Engineer to join our growing building systems engineering team. Our firm provides consulting engineering services for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and energy systems , allowing us to deliver fully integrated building designs for architects, developers, and facility owners. Engineers at Smith Miller Associates work on projects from early system studies and concept development through construction administration , providing exposure to every phase of the design process. This role offers a hybrid work schedule and a long-term ownership track for engineers who want to grow with the firm. What You'll Do Design HVAC and building mechanical systems Prepare mechanical plans, specifications, and calculations Perform heating, cooling, and ventilation system design Coordinate with electrical and plumbing engineering teams Support permitting and construction documentation Participate in projects from design through construction Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering EIT required (PE or ability to obtain preferred) Experience with HVAC or building mechanical systems Familiarity with building codes and energy standards Strong teamwork and communication skills Why Smith Miller Associates Ownership track for high-performing engineers Hybrid work schedule Work on commercial, healthcare, education, and industrial projects Collaborative multidisciplinary engineering team Opportunities for career advancement
