Industrial HVAC Engineering & Design, Field Work Who's Hiring:
An engineering firm is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in industrial HVAC design. This role supports projects in chemical plants, manufacturing facilities, and other industrial environments. Work includes HVAC system design, process ventilation, and hazardous area pressurization. This position is hybrid and requires onsite presence at least 3 days per week. Remote candidates cannot be considered.
Responsibilities:
Design HVAC systems for industrial and chemical facilities
Perform heating and cooling load calculations and equipment selection
Design process ventilation and hazardous location pressurization systems
Develop HVAC layouts, specifications, and cost estimates
Evaluate existing systems and recommend improvements
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and clients
Perform field work including site visits and drawing verification
Qualifications:
5+ years of HVAC engineering and design experience
Industrial HVAC experience required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
EIT certification required; PE preferred
Knowledge of NFPA, ASHRAE, and OSHA standards
Proficient in AutoCAD; Revit or Navisworks a plus
Dust collection, plumbing, or fire protection experience is a plus
Additional Requirements:
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Valid driver's license
Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Willingness to travel occasionally for site work
Ability to work onsite in Akron, OH at least 3 days per week Benefits Competitive Pay
