Mead & Hunt is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Building Engineering team as a Plumbing Engineer. This exciting opportunity is available at any of the following office locations: Milwaukee, WI; Madison, WI; Denver, CO; Tampa, FL; Chicago, IL; Portland, OR; Sacramento, CA; San Diego, CA; Scottsdale, AZ; Dallas, TX; and, Bloomington, MN. Additionally, this position offers a flexible hybrid work schedule, requiring at least three days per week onsite at our office - an excellent opportunity to enjoy both in-office collaboration and remote flexibility.
Responsibilities include:
Leading the plumbing design of multiple projects of various sizes. Preparing reports and studies. Selecting, specifying, and estimating costs of plumbing system equipment and fixtures. Performing calculations as required. Conducting periodic construction site inspections. Supervises staff on project teams. Other tasks as assigned. A valid driver's license and approximately up to 25% travel will be required. The successful candidate will have all of the following: A bachelor's degree (or higher) in mechanical or architectural engineering from an accredited college or university At least six years of relevant plumbing engineering experience PE license in any state with the ability to obtain in additional states. The ideal candidate will have experience in any/all of the following: Leading plumbing design of complex projects including. fire suppression / sprinkler, compressed air / gas, laboratory water / gas and medical gas design. Performing calculations for system layout and sizing. Using Revit to create bid document drawings. Designing systems for Federal Government projects. Plumbing, fire protection and building codes. CPD certification from ASPE is preferred Experience or familiarity with generative AI-driven tools, platforms, or systems (e.g. Microsoft Copilot, Chat GPT, Claude, Gemini) to enhance productivity, automate tasks, and reduce errors At Mead & Hunt we shape the future by putting people first.
