We are seeking an experienced HVAC Sales Engineer to drive sales of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems while providing technical expertise throughout the sales lifecycle. The role combines hands-on technical knowledge of HVAC systems with strong sales and customer-facing skills to develop proposals, support design and installation teams, and secure projects that meet client performance, budget and schedule expectations. The primary objective is to grow revenue by identifying opportunities, delivering technically accurate solutions and maintaining strong post-sale relationships. Key Responsibilities
Identify and qualify new business opportunities and manage the sales pipeline to meet or exceed revenue targets.
Develop technical proposals, system selections and detailed quotations for HVAC equipment and integrated solutions.
Collaborate with clients, consulting engineers, contractors and internal engineering teams to produce compliant specifications and drawings.
Conduct site surveys and feasibility assessments; provide application engineering and sizing for HVAC equipment.
Present product solutions and lead technical meetings, product demonstrations and client workshops.
Prepare commercial proposals, negotiate contract terms and support procurement processes.
Coordinate with installation and service teams to ensure smooth project handover, commissioning and after-sales support.
Provide technical training and documentation to customers and internal staff as needed.
Maintain accurate records in CRM systems, track sales activities and prepare regular sales forecasts and reports.
Stay current with industry standards, codes and emerging HVAC technologies to advise clients and influence product development.
Qualifications
Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology or related field; equivalent technical sales experience will be considered.
3+ years of experience in HVAC field sales, application engineering, or a combination of sales and technical roles.
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems (required).
Proven experience preparing technical proposals, equipment selection and sizing.
Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills with a customer-focused approach.
Ability to perform site assessments and work collaboratively with installation and service teams.
Familiarity with CAD or HVAC design software and the ability to read mechanical drawings.
Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to client sites and project locations.
Nice-to-have skills: AHU, Vrf (VRF), Chiller, Boiler, Mechanical systems background, previous Sales experience specific to HVAC equipment, and hands-on exposure to Install and Service activities.
Relevant certifications (eg. refrigeration or HVAC qualifications), knowledge of local codes/regulations and experience with commercial and industrial projects preferred. Benefits PTO Insurance
