Description:
You will be the Facilities Controls Engineer - Level 4 for the Facilities Controls team which is responsible for coordinating vendor support, asset management, and control system performance across the Greenville site. What You Will Be Doing As the Facilities Controls Engineer - Level 4 you will be responsible for serving as the central liaison between multiple site portfolios and external vendors while ensuring reliable operation of critical facility equipment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Coordinate and manage vendors for high‑priority equipment repairs, visitor badge processing, and on‑site logistics. Design, program, commission, and maintain a variety of facility control assets, including ovens, HVAC units, and specialized production machines. Track and report risks, action items, backlog, and resource constraints, providing real‑time data to senior leadership. Develop and maintain metrics, Review of Boards (ROB) updates, and training‑compliance records to support decision‑making. Collaborate with Environmental, Safety & Health, Quality, Production & Sustainment, and Program Office teams to align controls with site‑wide objectives. Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Controls, Mechatronics, or a closely related field (BS required; MS preferred). Experience considered in lieu of degree. Hands‑on experience designing, programming, and commissioning PLC‑based control systems for industrial equipment such as ovens, HVAC plants, production‑line machinery, and CNC/AutoDrill-type automation. Experience with major PLC platforms (Allen‑Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider) and
HMI/SCADA
tools (FactoryTalk, Ignition, Wonderware or similar). Knowledge of industrial communications (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, BACnet, OPC UA) and safety standards (IEC 61508/62061, OSHA, NFPA). Experience developing, testing, and maintaining control logic, create documentation, and perform root‑cause troubleshooting; experience with version‑control (Git or SVN) is a plus.
Desired Skills:
Demonstrated experience leading small‑to‑medium control projects, manage budgets/schedules, and coordinating with facilities, maintenance, and production teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of translating technical details for non‑technical stakeholders. Advanced scripting (Structured Text, Python/C#) for custom logic & data‑logging. Industrial IoT/edge (MQTT, Azure IoT, Kepware) for real‑time monitoring. Data visualization (Power BI, Tableau, Grafana). Cybersecurity basics (IEC 62443, network segmentation). Industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, VLANs, field‑bus troubleshooting). Project‑management tools (MS Project, Earned‑Value). Lean/continuous‑improvement (Six‑Sigma, 5S). Commissioning & FAT/SAT test‑plan development. Cross‑functional collaboration & regulatory awareness (FAA, ISO 9001). Training/mentoring junior staff and creating SOPs.
