JOB SUMMARY
The facilities engineer oversees all aspects of the facility's operations, maintenance, and engineering projects. The person is responsible for optimizing the functionality, efficiency, reliability, and safety of all Quantum Manufacturing facilities, equipment, and manufacturing processes. The facilities engineer also coordinates continuous improvement initiatives, especially in the areas of process improvement and process innovation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of manufacturing equipment, machinery, buildings, and facilities. Develop and implement maintenance procedures, PM schedules, and budgets. Implement manufacturing processes to maintain product quality and cost efficiency. Oversee installation and maintenance of machines so that they are installed and function according to specifications. Manage all capital projects, including facility expansions and equipment upgrades. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including OSHA requirements, as well as environmental standards and quality requirements. Collaborate with other departments to optimize manufacturing processes and reduce downtime. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues. Develop, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for equipment and process effectiveness. Implement process improvements and innovations and other continuous improvement initiatives to maximize productivity, reduce costs, and improve quality and safety. Drive a culture of continuous improvement by fostering innovation and implementing best practices. Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and competitiveness.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field is preferred Alternatively a minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance or manufacturing engineering, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of manufacturing processes, machine controls, and electrical and mechanical systems Broad familiarity with manufacturing processes and principles Excellent project management and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance management software Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies Familiarity with regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, etc.) Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong leadership and interpersonal skills Appropriate communication skills that enable effective interaction at all levels of the organization
Other Preferred Qualifications:
Professional certifications in maintenance or engineering management, such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM) Experience in controls engineering and programing preferred Experience with
ISO 9000
standards and Process Safety Management (PSM) Knowledge of energy management and sustainability practices Formal training and experience with regulations and standards pertaining to manufacturing safety (OSHA) and quality management systems (ISO 9000) Experience with goal-setting and KPI performance management
