Full Job Description Assistant Chief Engineer Dallas, TX Salary :
$85,000 + Benefits Our client, a global leader in integrated facilities management and building services, is seeking an experienced Assistant Chief Engineer to support operations at a large higher-education campus in Dallas, TX. This position is ideal for a hands-on HVAC professional with strong leadership capabilities and a background managing commercial building operations in complex environments. The Assistant Chief Engineer will work alongside site leadership to oversee daily maintenance operations, ensure system reliability, support technician development, and help maintain a safe and efficient campus environment. Key Responsibilities Assist in overseeing the operation, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC systems and central plant equipment Support the Chief Engineer with scheduling, team leadership, and work order management Supervise and mentor maintenance technicians and engineering staff Ensure preventative maintenance programs are completed on schedule Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and building automation system issues Monitor equipment performance and recommend operational improvements Maintain compliance with safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and campus stakeholders as needed Assist with budgeting, inventory control, and operational reporting Respond to emergency maintenance situations and support after-hours operations when required Qualifications 8+ years of experience in commercial HVAC and building engineering Previous experience managing or supervising direct reports Strong knowledge of commercial mechanical systems, chillers, boilers, air handlers, pumps, and BAS controls Experience working in large commercial, institutional, healthcare, or campus environments preferred Strong troubleshooting and leadership skills EPA Certification preferred Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation Excellent communication and organizational skills What's Offered Competitive salary of $85,000 Comprehensive benefits package Stable long-term opportunity with a nationally recognized facilities organization Opportunity to work at a high-profile educational campus Career growth and advancement potential If this is of interest, or you'd like more information, please apply or reach out to Jake directly.
