Richardson, TX Job Details Full-time $90,000 - $115,000 a year 20 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications Chemical Engineering Facilities management Bachelor's degree Manufacturing Electrical Engineering Full Job Description Overview We are seeking a highly motivated Facility Engineer to support the construction, commissioning, and ongoing operation of our advanced semiconductor manufacturing facility, including ISO-classified cleanroom environments. This role is responsible for the engineering oversight, reliability, and performance of critical facility systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, process utilities, and mechanical infrastructure. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with hands-on capability and engineering judgment. This individual will play a key role in ensuring system reliability, optimizing performance, and supporting facility scalability in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
Responsibilities During Construction & Commissioning Phase:
Provide engineering support for the installation and integration of facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and process utilities. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure systems are installed according to design specifications, codes, and safety standards. Review and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and electrical schematics to validate system design and field implementation. Participate in system inspections, testing, and commissioning activities, including FAT/SAT and startup verification. Develop and maintain documentation for facility systems, including as-built drawings, SOPs, and commissioning records. Identify and resolve design or installation issues, escalating risks and proposing engineering solutions as needed. Support cleanroom construction and certification processes, including airflow balancing and environmental compliance.During Operations Phase:
Own the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of facility systems (HVAC, electrical, water, gas, and process utilities). Monitor and analyze facility data (temperature, humidity, pressure differentials, energy usage) to ensure optimal cleanroom and facility performance. Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions for system failures or deviations. Develop and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs using CMMS tools. Drive initiatives to improve system efficiency, uptime, sustainability, and cost performance. Provide technical leadership during troubleshooting of complex mechanical and electrical issues. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with manufacturing, EHS, and engineering teams to support production needs and facility expansion. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). 3+ years of experience in facility engineering, industrial systems, or mission-critical environments.Preferred Industry Experience:
Semiconductor manufacturing Cleanroom environments Photonics or advanced manufacturing Pharmaceutical or GMP-regulated facilities Battery manufacturing Data centers or mission-critical infrastructure Technical Skills Strong understanding of building systems (MEP): HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, and process utilities.Experience with:
Cleanroom HVAC systems and environmental controls Electrical systems, power distribution, and control panels Industrial utilities (compressed air, chilled water, vacuum, specialty gases) Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and electrical schematics. Familiarity with CMMS and maintenance management systems. Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and safety practices. Key Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound engineering decisions. Ability to balance hands-on work with system-level thinking and optimization. Effective communication and coordination skills in a cross-functional environment. Comfortable working in both construction and operational phases of a facility lifecycle.
