Chief Engineer Compensation Range :
$75,000•90,000 annually, commensurate with experience The Founders Inn and Spa is seeking an experienced and motivated Chief Engineer to lead our Property Engineering team. This leadership role is responsible for the overall maintenance, safety, repair, and operational functionality of the hotel's buildings, grounds, and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, leadership experience, and a passion for maintaining exceptional guest and team member experiences. Responsibilities Direct and oversee all Engineering and Property Operations functions. Lead, supervise, train, and support the engineering team. Manage preventative maintenance programs and daily work orders. Ensure compliance with all safety standards, building codes, and regulations. Oversee HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems. Coordinate vendors, contractors, and capital improvement projects. Develop and manage engineering budgets, inventories, and purchasing. Respond to guest maintenance concerns promptly and professionally. Participate in hotel leadership meetings and operational planning. Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspections, and documentation. Qualifications Minimum 4 years of engineering or facilities experience in hospitality, commercial property operations, or related field. Previous management or supervisory experience required. Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams. Experience using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment. Universal Refrigerant Certification preferred. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Vocational or technical training preferred. Work Environment This position requires working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions and may involve climbing ladders, working at heights, lifting equipment, and exposure to machinery, chemicals, and mechanical systems.
