Job Title:
Facilities Engineer Job Description This role is responsible for engineering oversight of building systems, utilities, and site infrastructure that support critical manufacturing operations, including forming, welding, annealing, finishing, inspection, and packaging. The Facilities Engineer will work closely with maintenance, operations, EHS, and engineering teams to ensure facility assets meet production, regulatory, and safety requirements while supporting continuous improvement and capital project execution. Responsibilities Provide engineering support for facility infrastructure and utility systems, including electrical distribution, HVAC, compressed air, water, wastewater, and process gases. Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve the reliability of facility systems and support capital projects related to facility upgrades, equipment installation, and infrastructure improvements. Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for design, installation, and maintenance of facility systems. Ensure facility systems comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and safety requirements. Support EHS initiatives, including inspections, audits, and corrective actions related to facility conditions. Maintain and update facility drawings, documentation, and specifications. Partner with operations and maintenance teams to troubleshoot facility-related issues impacting production. Support energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost-reduction initiatives. Assist with permitting, inspections, and regulatory reporting related to utilities and site infrastructure. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Facilities, or related discipline). 3+ years of experience in facilities engineering, plant engineering, or industrial maintenance engineering. Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial facilities. Working knowledge of industrial utility systems (electrical, HVAC, compressed air, water/wastewater). Familiarity with OSHA, environmental, and building code requirements. Strong project coordination and vendor management skills. Ability to work cross-functionally in a production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Strong skills in electrical, plumbing, facilities maintenance, HVAC, repair, building maintenance, and preventive maintenance. Experience in facility maintenance and maintenance repair. Ability to perform painting tasks when necessary. Work Environment The work environment is centered around a key manufacturing hub for precision welded and specialty alloy tubing used in demanding industrial and sanitary applications. The role involves working closely with various teams and external vendors, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and supporting ongoing facility improvements. The position requires adaptability to a production environment and involvement in energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Janesville, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $48.08/hr.
