Facility Engineer Prolec-GE Waukesha, Inc United States, Wisconsin, Waukesha 400 South Prairie Avenue (Show on map) May 14, 2026 Prolec is seeking a Facility Engineer to lead and support the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of our large power transformer manufacturing campus and its critical support systems. This role is responsible for overseeing facility infrastructure, managing capital projects, and partnering crossfunctionally to improve productivity, reduce operating costs, and support longterm business and growth objectives. This position combines facility engineering expertise, project leadership, and handson technical problemsolving in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Own and support plant electrical systems, including power distribution, motor control, controls panels, VFDs, and safetycritical systems
Troubleshoot and support PLCbased equipment and facility systems using standard ladder logic and best practices
Manage projects and programs that support:
Facility and grounds expansions, consolidations, and improvements
HVAC, electrical, fire alarm, and security systems
Plant oil, vapor phase, vacuum, and specialized processing systems
Manufacturing and physical test floor equipment
Plan, lead, and execute capital projects from concept through installation and startup, including:
Equipment and system design coordination
Vendor selection and bid evaluation
Capital appropriation requests with financial justification
Budget control and cost management
Coordinate teams in a matrix management environment, working with maintenance, manufacturing, engineering, CI, and operations
Identify waste reduction and productivity improvement opportunities across manufacturing and office environments
Support process and system changes tied to new product introductions
Direct and manage external vendors, contractors, and consultants
Serve as a technical resource for facility and project initiatives
Partner with maintenance, manufacturing, and engineering teams to maintain uptime in a 24/7 production environment Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering
4+ years of relevant experience in maintenance or facilities in a manufacturing environment
Ability to work crossfunctionally and lead teams without direct authority
Strong analytical, organizational, and problemsolving skills Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Multidisciplinary background spanning electrical, mechanical, controls, and software systems
Experience with industrial automation, including PLCs, ladder logic, and variable frequency drives
Familiarity with SCADA systems and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus) Working Conditions Combination of shop floor and office work within a large manufacturing campus
Must be able to stand for extended periods
Occasional exposure to routine manufacturing hazards
