Job Title:
Engineering Technician Job Description As a Closures Engineering Technician, you will play a vital role in executing tests, performing inspections, and supporting engineers in resolving mechanical and electrical issues. Your attention to detail and ability to collaborate will be key to ensuring the success of various projects. Responsibilities Execute tests by setting up, performing inspections, and conducting maintenance and retrofits using multimeters, force gauges, and torque wrenches. Document and report issues identified during tests or inspections. Collaborate with engineers to resolve mechanical and electrical issues discovered. Support engineers in instrumentation and data acquisition. Assist and learn from other technicians and engineers. Assemble and wire test fixtures. Collaborate with the team for lab organization and usage. Understand Ohm's Law and other fundamental principles. Use a bandsaw and a drill press for test fabrication. Essential Skills Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, CAN communication, and harnessing. Experience with mechanical and electrical diagnostics, including handling heavier mechanical components. Familiarity with low voltage systems and hand tools. Ability to perform tear downs and inspections. Additional Skills & Qualifications Excellent attention to detail along with strong written and verbal communication skills. Analytical problem-solving skills and strong organizational skills. Understanding of the working principles of common closures operations, testing, and characterization. Experience using standard lab and test equipment such as power supplies and DAQs. Ability to solder, crimp, and read wire diagrams. Basic experience with MS Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word). Experience working with high voltage and low voltage components. Previous experience with CAN communication. Experience working on vehicle-level systems. Work Environment The role involves working in a lab environment using various standard lab equipment and tools. You will collaborate with engineers and technicians, requiring a strong team-oriented mindset. Professional attire is expected to maintain a safe and organized workspace. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Fremont, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
