Primary Purpose:
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Work as underground transmission maintenance technicians with the ability to advance to the journeyman level. Individuals must be able to diagnose and perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance tasks on high voltage (HV) underground transmission (UGT) facilities, including substation terminations and potheads, oil pump houses and valving, manholes, various HV splices, corrosion control systems, and associated substation equipment and controls. Additional duties include the inspection, construction, installation, modification, and diagnosis of UGT equipment at voltages up to and including 230kV, operating and blocking oil related equipment, work planning & coordination, and secondary distribution storm restoration. Position will require working extended hours, including 24x7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies. It is required that the individual can advance to first class journeyman level and work independently as needed in a high-performance team environment. Primary Duties:
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Follow all safety rules and procedures along with verbal and written directions from supervision. Proficient at circuit print, design, diagram, and map reading Understand and perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance tasks on transmission-class underground equipment including troubleshooting Safely operate transmission-class underground equipment such as oil pumping stations and related valving, oil movement, alarm systems, cathodic protection systems, etc. Plan, prepare, and coordinate work using established procedures, standards, processes, and a variety of computer software, e.g., Cascade, AS8 Respond to call/outs/emergencies/storm duty on a 24 x 7 basis and perform shift work and overtime as needed. qualified, meets substation entry requirements and is an electrically qualified worker for transmission equipment, lines, and voltages up to 230kV. Provides oversite for contractors performing work on the transmission system. Provides inspection and/or safety watchman services of contractor/customer personnel working near transmission lines and/or equipment. Job Scope:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School graduate or GED Hold a valid driver's license Ability to obtain a CDL (class B) license and a Pennsylvania driver's medical card Ability to successfully complete industry approved corrosion control classes leading to certification, e.g., NACE Coating Inspector, Cathodic Protection Tester (Level 1) Ability to obtain a Transportation Workers Identity Card (TWIC) Maintain Fitness for Duty standards per company guidelines Ability to learn to read and interpret mechanical drawings & equipment instruction books Ability to learn to read & interpret wiring and electrical schematics and diagrams Ability to work at heights to sixty feet or more from ladders, aerial man lifts, or bucket trucks Ability to enter manholes Work in severe weather conditions Preferred Qualifications:
