About the Company Blackbeard Operating, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and operations-focused Engineering Technician to serve as the administrator and primary owner of the company's daily reporting systems, with a heavy emphasis on WellEZ. This Midland-based role sits at the intersection of field operations, engineering, and data integrity, ensuring accurate, timely, and consistent reporting across drilling, completions, workover, and production activities. The position will work closely with field staff, engineers, and management to maintain clean datasets that drive operational visibility and decision-making. About the Role Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for WellEZ daily reporting. Ensure accurate, timely, and consistent field data entry across drilling, completions, and production. Maintain activity codes, producing methods, failure types, and operational timelines to support KPIs and analytics. Review daily reports for completeness, consistency, and alignment with field activity; resolve discrepancies with Operations, engineering, and field teams. Train and support users on WellEZ workflows, standards, and best practices. Drive continuous improvement of reporting processes through standardization, validation, and documentation. Partner with engineering and analytics teams to support dashboards, PowerBI reporting, failure tracking, and historical data cleanup. Support AFE tracking, cost allocation, and operational summaries through accurate activity reporting. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in oil & gas operations support, engineering tech, or data/reporting roles. Required Skills Hands-on experience with WellEZ required; administrative or power-user experience strongly preferred. Strong understanding of drilling, completions, workover, and production operations and terminology. High attention to detail with a strong sense of data ownership and accountability. Comfortable working directly with field personnel to clarify operations and timelines. Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple active operations simultaneously. Strong communication skills with the ability to translate field activity into clean, usable data. Proficient in Excel; familiarity with PowerBI, ProCount, or similar systems is a plus.
