Job Description:
We are seeking a highly capable and hands-on Sr. Systems/embedded Engineer to help drive the development of next-generation intelligent lighting and control systems. This is an opportunity to play a critical role in shaping innovative electronic products from concept through production within a collaborative, fast-moving engineering environment. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in embedded electronics design, strong systems-level thinking, and a passion for building robust, manufacturable hardware solutions. This role offers significant ownership, technical influence, and the ability to directly impact product architecture and performance. What You'll Do Architect, design, and develop embedded electronic systems for advanced lighting and control products Lead hardware bring-up, integration, debugging, and system validation activities Evaluate and evolve existing product architectures to improve performance, reliability, and manufacturability Collaborate closely with firmware and software engineering teams to ensure seamless system-level integration Develop clear technical documentation, design specifications, and system architecture definitions Support design verification, reliability testing, regulatory considerations, and transition into volume manufacturing Partner with manufacturing teams during product development and launch phases to ensure successful production readiness Travel occasionally to manufacturing facilities in Connecticut during critical development and launch activities What You'll Bring Extensive hands-on experience designing and debugging embedded electronic systems from concept through production Strong mixed-signal hardware design expertise across both analog and digital domains Proven ability to independently develop schematics and execute PCB layouts for production hardware Proficiency with Altium Designer or equivalent PCB design tools Solid understanding of component placement, grounding strategies, signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC best practices Deep knowledge of microcontroller-based systems and embedded hardware integration Experience designing for manufacturability, reliability, validation, and manufacturing launch support Ability to analyze, maintain, and improve legacy schematics and board-level designs Strong systems-thinking mindset with disciplined technical documentation practices Comfortable operating in a lean, highly collaborative engineering environment with substantial ownership and accountability Team-oriented approach with strong communication and problem-solving skills Why This Opportunity This role offers the chance to work on sophisticated real-world products in an engineering-driven environment where your contributions will have immediate visibility and impact.
