Job Description

Dev/Research Engineer 3 (Data Acquisition Hardware) Lafayette, IN (Onsite) $44-48/hr W2 + medical, dental, vision, 401k 24-month contract We are hiring a hands-on Dev/Research Engineer to support the build and deployment of data acquisition hardware systems used in field testing environments. This is a lab-based role focused on assembling, configuring, and maintaining hardware kits that collect critical system data across engineering programs. What You Will Do Assemble and configure data acquisition hardware kits for field use Wire, solder, troubleshoot, clean, and refurbish returned units Translate electrical schematics into wiring harnesses and complete builds Build and validate software/configuration files for data loggers Maintain lab inventory of new and returned kits with detailed documentation Prepare systems for redeployment and support global shipments What You Need Bachelor's degree in Engineering 5+ years of hands-on experience (internships count if heavily electrical-focused) Strong electrical/electronics experience (wiring, soldering, multimeters, hand tools) Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics Experience with CAN communication (J1939, CCP, or serial bus) Nice to Have Experience in instrumentation labs or data acquisition environments Exposure to deployed hardware or field systems Engine-related experience (not required) What is Important for Success Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Self-starter who can work independently after ramp-up Good time management and organization Comfort working in a fast-paced, hands-on lab environment #LI-DO1 #INDOEM
