During that time, our innovative team has been designing and manufacturing mission-critical, high reliability optical sensors for satellites providing guidance, navigation, situational awareness, and control capabilities.
Summary
Redwire Space Components, LLC hasa current opportunity for a HardwareDevelopmentEngineerlocatedat our facility in Marlborough, MA. In this role you will becollaborating with other members of the engineering team and productmanagement to develop space-qualified hardware PCBs and FPGA designs for our flight cameras, navigational sensor products, and other expanded product lines. The development includescircuitdesign, analysis, test, qualification, designdocuments,andsupporting the transition of products from R D to manufacturing.
Responsibilities Learn applicable product technology, architecture, and design requirements for space-basedsensorsystems
Collaborate with the larger product team to effectively produceoptimalhardware designsfor the space environment
Analyze and document design specifications, design verification plans and reports,parts stress analysis,worst-case analysisincludingradiation effects,and failure modes and effects analysis
Work with the software team to bring up and debug PCB, FPGA, and system-level designs.
Maintain hardware throughout the development cycle
Design and support build of any special test equipment needed including interface adapters, cables, and associated commercial test support equipment
Conduct design verification stress testing tovalidateanalysis and design margins.
Evaluate any noncompliance's and develop solutions to bring the product into compliance
Develop novel system design approaches to mitigate radiation hazards toimproved sensor availabilityorextend mission life
Support product release cycles, including manufacturing and test Ideal Experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineeringor related field with two or more years of relevant design experience. MSEE is a plus
Experience designing embedded electronics, including analog circuitry (amplifiers, filters, ADC/DAC interfaces, power sequencing) and digital hardware (microcontrollers, memory, mixedsignal components)
Experience with common digital communication interfaces such as UART, SPI/QSPI, I2C, Ethernet, USB, or MIPI
Hands-on experience with building test circuits, using power supplies, oscilloscopes, and other lab test equipment in a manual or automated test environment
Experience using schematic and PCB design tools (Altium is preferred)
Exposure to the hardware development lifecycle including requirements, design, implementation, and verification
Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance
Some limited travel may be required Desired Skills Familiar with analysis such as reliability, worstcase, parts stress/derating, or thermal analysis.
Experience with isolated and nonisolated DC/DC power supplies, voltage/current monitoring techniques, and protection circuitry
Excellent oral and written communication skills that enable effective collaboration, status reporting, and documenting analysis and results
Knowledge of professional engineering tools including version control (Git), SPICE, synthesis/simulation tools, or signal integrity analysis
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, for documentation, analysis, and presentation of engineering work
Interest in learning about radiation effects in spacebased electronics (TID, SEE, TNID) and designing for the space environment
Exposure to EMC considerations (MILSTD461 RE/CE/RS/CS) or ESDrobust design

Salary range: $92K/yr. - $135K/yr.

Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant's level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position . An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will be considered for higher pay.
