Job Title:
Hardware Engineer Job Description We are seeking an experienced hardware engineer to develop a System-on-Module (SOM) based on an Intel Core Ultra processor that interfaces with a carrier card. This is a part-time position. Responsibilities Design processors and PCIe systems, focusing on Intel platforms with a preference for Core Ultra familiarity. Develop high-speed PCB designs and layouts, considering signal integrity and power integrity for frequencies above 5GHz. Conduct power delivery design and perform power plane analysis. Perform thermal analysis and consider system-level thermal management. Lead board bring-up, debugging, and validation processes. Capture and validate requirements, ensuring alignment with project goals. Create comprehensive design documentation and participate in design reviews. Plan and execute tests, including creating test plans, cases, procedures, and reports. Support electrical qualification and certification processes. Work both collaboratively and independently within a small team environment. Essential Skills Experience in processor and PCIe design, particularly with Intel platforms and Core Ultra. Proficiency in high-speed PCB design and layout, including SI/PI considerations. Knowledge of power delivery design and power plane analysis. Ability to conduct thermal analysis and manage system-level thermal considerations. Experience with board bring-up, debugging, and validation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with requirements capture and validation. Ability to produce detailed design documentation and conduct design reviews. Capability to plan tests and create associated documentation. Experience supporting electrical qualification and certification processes. Ability to work collaboratively and independently within a small team. Work Environment This is a hybrid role, requiring onsite presence once a week for design reviews and testing/validation of boards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Waukesha, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $90.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
