Principal AE, Full Custom Layout

Location, The job is ideally located in Minneapolis but we can be flexible as this is a work from home position. Must be located in the Mid-West or willing to relocate there.

This is a customer-facing layout application engineering (AE) role where you will present solutions, demonstrate software, solve problems, and develop new creative solutions and flows. You will work closely with customers to understand their design challenges and proliferate recommended solutions. You will work closely with R D, Product Engineering, and Sales to drive customer success. You will be the technical expert on Cadence tools and a valued consultant on design and implementation issues. You will own customer success!

This role spans a broad range of Custom IC Design and Implementation technologies. You must be eager to learn new tools, flows, and technologies.

You must manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities include:

Understanding customers' custom IC design, simulation and layout challengesGuiding customer design teams regarding methodology and flows to improve their productivityResolving critical tool issues impacting project timelines, often collaborating with product development and peer AEsSupporting customers with their custom design and layout flowsConducting technical presentations, technical training, and product demonstrations to customers, including developing customized presentations as requiredSupporting technical evaluations/benchmarks and driving the process to deliver Cadence solutionsPartnering with Sales Management and other AEs to identify sales opportunities, prioritize them, and help develop winning sales strategiesDeveloping an understanding of the customer's needs and the competition's technology and sales strategies to create solutions that best meet our needs. Communicating customer requirements and feedback to Cadence Engineering and Marketing groups for issue resolution and to improve product features and qualityHelping customers adopt and proliferate our systems solutions including heterogeneous integration and electromagnetic and thermal analysisSkills needed for this role:

Minimum 5 years of practical hands-on experience in simulation and layout applications for Custom IC Design. Analog, mixed-signal or RF design or layout experience.

Experience with Cadence layout tools especially with advanced node (FinFet) geometriesExperience setting up PDK's and using LVS, DRC, EMIR, EM and parasitic extraction tools are a plusProgramming and scripting skills in

You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the salary range is a guideline and compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
