The ideal candidate self-starter with excellent communication and problem-solving skills to collaborate with others, including customers and end-users, to develop system requirements and specifications across product development lifecycle. This engineer will for design, develop, and manage embedded systems in our hardware products. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and participate in the entire program life-cycle from requirements definition, design, development, integration, testing, validation, and installation support. The selected candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and will be subject to government security investigations and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Component selection and symbol/footprint creation with alternate/substitute parts analysis Write firmware and scripts for products hardware engineers develop Develop and write embedded software code according to specified requirements Perform engineering checkouts Help troubleshoot circuit boards Write firmware configuration reports Participate and conduct internal design reviews Work with software and hardware engineers to integrate and validate new product designs
Preferred Qualifications:
BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent Proficient in a writing scripts Experience in circuit design, simulation and PCB layout Design and implement memory interfaces in FPGA Embedded programming in C and C++ Must be a U.S. citizen and ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance is required 5 or more years' experience in digital printed circuit board design Experience with analog PCB designs and materials Xilinx Ultrascale+/Zynq Working experience developing board level test strategies including pre-test, calibration and final test Experience in FPGA design and simulation in Verilog HDL Experience with Linux Kernel Knowledge of digital communications including
USB, 10GE, 40GE, 100GE
a plus Ability to solder and perform SMT rework a plus Experience within DoD and aerospace industry
