Project Engineer Leidos Inc $50,700.00•$91,650.00 / yr United States, Texas, Webster May 12, 2026 Description Leidos has an excellent opportunity for a Project Engineer to work on the Cargo Mission Contract (CMC). In this position the employee will work on projects involving the development and certification of spaceflight hardware in support of NASA's Johnson Space Center International Space Station (ISS), Orion, Human Landing System (HLS), and other exploration based NASA Programs. This role also may support Leidos Commercial work for supporting spaceflight hardware development. The CMC team works with commercial software such as IBM Maximo, Microsoft (MS) Project, and MS SharePoint, in addition to CMC custom software. Support for tests and other activities may be required outside of normal working hours. Primary Responsibilities Support hardware development projects to certify, configure, and deliver new hardware for spaceflight Create and maintain project resource-loaded schedules in MS Project Professional Develop basis-of-estimates (BOEs) for new on-contract growth Author and monitor work orders, purchase requests, non-conformance reports, internal/external customer presentations, designs, and trade studies Basic Qualifications Requires BS degree in Engineering or related degree Preferred Qualifications Experience using MS Project, MS SharePoint, and MS Office applications Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Experience working with multi-discipline teams and customers Review, understand, and implement flight hardware handling constraints according to NASA requirements and hardware owner's documentation. Inspect flight hardware items to ensure program requirements are met, while observing hardware handling constraints. Identify physical issues with hardware items, make recommendations for resolution, and coordinate with cargo team to implement resolution. Ensure issues are resolved in order to meet schedule constraints. Package flight hardware for protection according to NASA standards and drawings, and integrate into final launch configurations per layout drawings. Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance; due to contract requirements, U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent residency is required. If you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
