Engineering Associate Location:
San Diego, CA 92111
Pay:
$48.28/hr + Weekly Pay & Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision)
Schedule:
8 AM - 5 PM (flexibility for occasional early/late hours or weekends)
Contract:
12 months Role Overview We are seeking an experienced EHS Engineering Associate to support and manage environmental, health, and safety programs. This role focuses on regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, training, and continuous improvement to maintain a safe and compliant workplace. Key Responsibilities Support development and implementation of EHS programs (HazCom, LOTO, Emergency Response, Waste Management, PPE, etc.) Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and local regulations Conduct inspections, audits, and risk assessments; implement corrective actions Lead incident investigations and support emergency response activities Deliver EHS training and promote a strong safety culture Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste programs (handling, storage, disposal) Maintain EHS records, reports, and regulatory documentation Required Qualifications 5+ years of EHS experience (biotech, medical device, or manufacturing preferred) Strong knowledge of
OSHA, EPA, DOT
regulations Experience with risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations Hands-on experience with hazardous, biological, and chemical waste management Familiarity with San Diego County HAZMAT and CERS portal Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Preferred Qualifications Experience with
ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 HAZWOPER
certification First Aid/CPR/AED certification Knowledge of Lean, 5S, or Six Sigma Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in lab/manufacturing environments Ability to wear PPE and work with hazardous materials Exposure to chemicals and biological materials may occur #TMN
