Job Description

StorX Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Permits and Licensing Specialist to manage permit preparation, code compliance documentation, and regulatory approvals for material handling, storage, and automation projects. This role serves as the primary liaison between our company, local jurisdictions, fire departments, engineers, and customers to ensure projects move efficiently through the permitting and approval process. The ideal candidate will have experience with building permits, fire code compliance, high-pile storage regulations, and coordinating with engineers and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs). Key Responsibilities Permitting & Licensing Prepare, submit, and track building permit applications for commercial and industrial projects. Prepare and submit fire permit applications and supporting documentation. Coordinate permit revisions, resubmittals, and responses to plan review comments. Monitor permit status and maintain accurate project records. Serve as the primary point of contact with local building departments, fire marshals, and regulatory agencies. High-Pile Storage Compliance Conduct standard High-Pile Storage Analysis in accordance with applicable fire codes and regulations. Prepare documentation packages required for high-pile storage permit approvals. Coordinate with customers and authorities regarding storage configurations and compliance requirements. Fire Protection Engineering Coordination Coordinate Fire Protection Engineer (FPE) reviews and stamped engineering documents. Work with third-party engineers to obtain required calculations, reports, and approvals. Review project requirements to determine when engineered solutions are necessary. Hazardous Materials & Consulting Assist with Hazardous Materials High-Pile Storage Analysis and code compliance reviews. Coordinate hazardous material classifications and documentation requirements. Provide consultation and guidance regarding fire code and storage compliance requirements. Inspections & Documentation Coordinate anchor inspections and maintain inspection records. Schedule inspections with local jurisdictions and third-party inspectors. Maintain permit files, compliance documentation, and project closeout records. Qualifications Required 3+ years of experience in permitting, licensing, construction administration, fire protection, code compliance, or a related field. Knowledge of commercial building permit processes. Experience working with local municipalities, building departments, and fire marshals. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Experience with high-pile storage permitting and fire code compliance. Familiarity with International Building Code (IBC), International Fire Code (IFC), and NFPA standards. Experience coordinating Fire Protection Engineer (FPE) stamped documents. Knowledge of hazardous material storage requirements. Experience in warehouse, distribution, material handling, or industrial facility projects. $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
