Job Description

Job Summary As the EHS leader of the automotive parts manufacturing plant, responsible for developing and executing EHS strategies to ensure compliance with U.S. regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT), mitigate occupational risks, and foster a zero-incident safety culture. Requires manufacturing EHS experience, automotive industry knowledge, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Key Responsibilities Compliance & Audits Ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, NIOSH, and DOT regulations; lead internal audits and manage regulatory inspections. Maintain permits, environmental reports (e.g., Tier II, Form R), and hazardous waste records. Risk Management & Prevention Conduct hazard assessments (JSA, PHA), implement controls for machine guarding, chemical safety (SDS), and fall protection. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents and drive corrective actions to reduce TRIR. Training & Safety Culture Deliver safety training programs (LOTO, PPE, emergency response) to empower employees. Lead safety committees and promote proactive reporting/behavior-based safety (BBS) initiatives. Environmental Stewardship Oversee air/water/waste management per EPA standards; lead sustainability projects (e.g., energy efficiency). Emergency Preparedness Develop and drill emergency plans (fire, chemical spill); ensure readiness of safety equipment. Act as primary incident coordinator with external agencies. Data & Reporting Track EHS metrics via systems (Enablon), generate reports (OSHA 300), and present insights to leadership. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with operations and engineering to ensure EHS compliance in new projects/contractor management.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in EHS, Engineering, or related field.
Experience:
5+ years in manufacturing EHS; automotive/heavy industry preferred; deep knowledge of
OSHA 1910/1920.
Certifications:
CSP, CIH, or equivalent preferred.
Skills:
Proficiency in EHS software and data analysis; bilingual (English/Mandarin) for global coordination. Fluent in English, and those with the ability to speak Spanish and Chinese are preferred.
Attributes:
Strong leadership, detail-oriented, decisive under pressure. Additional Information Participate in 24/7 on-call duty for emergencies. Conduct safety walkthroughs across production shifts as needed.
